Mr. Zhuang Rongpu of Juangji Tea Industry is the most famous tea producer in Sun Moon Lake, and is also very famous throughout Japan. For eight consecutive years, he has maintained an outstanding record of winning the top prize (first prize) in all four varieties (① Ruby, ② Red Yun, ③ Assam, ④ Taiwanese Mountain Tea) at the Sun Moon Lake Black Tea Competition. He is known as the "Tea King of Sun Moon Lake" because of his consistent victories in the competition. The diverse topography and rich geographical environment at an altitude of approximately 800 meters, along with a suitable average annual temperature and stable humidity, make Yuchi Township ideal for black tea production. Subsequently, the Yuchi branch of the Ministry of Agriculture's Tea Improvement Station continuously selected and improved varieties, resulting in the creation of the famous Yuchi black tea. Due to the subtle climatic differences within the Sun Moon Lake tea region, Sun Moon Lake black tea possesses a unique character that sets it apart from black teas from other regions.
Hundred-Year-Old Wild Native Mountain Tea Black Tea is made from tea leaves of a native variety that originally grew on this island, unlike Chinese varieties such as Qingxin Oolong. The oldest native variety in Taiwan is called Native Mountain Tea, and most of them are grown from seed, not propagated by cuttings, because they are either wild or cultivated in the wild. Therefore, like Wuyi rock tea, you can enjoy the deep mineral flavor of the land. Wild-cultivated tea has a very profound and complex flavor.
This is a rare Taiwanese tea that we only stock in very limited quantities, and we would love for you to try it at least once.
