Bring Taiwan closer to you.
Beyond famous travel destinations, Taiwan’s rich food culture naturally becomes part of everyday life — wherever you are.
The Journey of ShiangTsai
In 2018, ShiangTsai began as The Coriander Cooking Studio, a Taiwanese cooking school founded with the goal of sharing Taiwan’s food culture with people around the world.
Taiwanese cuisine is far more than just xiaolongbao. Taiwanese tea, herbal medicinal cuisine, festival foods closely tied to history, tropical fermented seasonings, and Indigenous ingredients and techniques all reflect a rich cultural fusion. This layered history is what shaped Taiwan into the culinary destination it is today.
Starting with familiar dishes such as xiaolongbao and pineapple cake, the studio has introduced the depth and diversity of Taiwanese food culture through cooking classes. Visitors from around the world have chosen the studio as the first stop of their journey in Taiwan, learning about the island’s geography, history, culture, ethnic diversity, and travel recommendations through cooking before setting off on their trip.
In the post-pandemic era, connections expanded beyond physical classrooms into online experiences, creating new interactive activities using video and audio.
In 2022, a new chapter began — proposing a Taiwan that can be enjoyed across the sea, closer to everyday life, and experienced through all five senses even without traveling.
