Yilan Traditional Peanut Taffy
Peanuts grown in the sandy soil of Yilan have given rise to a variety of peanut snacks. The most traditional of these is "Hua Sheng Tang," a peanut candy hardened with corn syrup or caramel, similar to toffee. The crispy, fragrant peanuts sandwiched between the soft candy layers make it a staple Taiwanese tea snack.
