Nurture for the coming of winter｜冬の栄養補給(補冬, bu-don)

“It’s Lidong today.” says every vender at the fresh market. “Lidong”, meaning the beginning of winter, and what Taiwanese do on this day is to cook something that warms up & nurtures our body so we can get ready for the coming of winter. A very popular dish among the must eats during Lidong is the sesame oil chicken(麻油雞). The sesame oil chicken can be cooked with soup, noodle, or rice, depends on your personal preference. The nutritional ingredients that we have in this dish are: ginger, Chinese angelica(sliced roots), jujube dates, goji berries, and dried shiitakes, and of course, the soul of Taiwanese dishes: SESAME OIL. We will be learning how to make this dish in our Superfood Cooking Class(winter), along with some other seasonal dishes deeply influenced our culture. So come and join us for a cozy winter!

冬のための栄養補助(補冬)

「今日は立冬だよ！」と朝市のおばちゃんが言ってました。台湾では、「立冬補冬」という立冬の日に冬のための栄養を摂取する文化があります。寒い冬がやって来て風邪などのひかないように体を温める食材で冬のための免疫力のある体を作ります。今日の夜6時に街を歩くと、違う方向から漢方の匂いが漂ってきました。(四物湯、十全大補湯、薬膳排骨…) その中で一番良く立冬に食べるのは麻油雞(ゴマ油と鶏肉)のスープ、お素麺、あるいはご飯です。この料理に使う薬材は生姜、当帰、干し椎茸、クコの実、ナツメとなり、そしてポイントの香りになるゴマ油をたっぷり使います。冬の台湾家庭薬膳レッスンでゴマ油鶏肉ご飯とそのほか冬の食べ物を一緒に学びます。レッスンに参加して暖かい冬を作りましょう！
