Urban farming｜本格的な都市農業を始めました

I’m not sure if it was because my mother always soaks herself in her garden, I have been started planting all kinds of herbs and small plants when I was in college. Every time when I’m back to my parents house, the first thing I always always do is to check what are grown in her garden, helping her in the gardening and enjoy the harvest. Since now I live in Taipei which is the most metropolitan city in Taiwan, it would be a luxury to have a farm/land in the city center. I have found an urban farm near our studio and i was really lucky to get a chance to join the community.

母の影響かもしれませんが植物を世話するのが大好きです。いつも実家に帰ると、一番最初にやることは家庭農園の様子を確認して、一緒に農業をやって収穫を楽しんでいます。

いつも野菜作りたいなーと思っていた私も、つい台北市内の都市農園に加わることができました。

This urban farm is in Songshan district, right in the city center, and the community has been working hard on winning the “best urban farm in the city” for years, also many groups from overseas researching urban farming come visit this farm every year. It is in walking distance less than 5 minutes from our studio in Songshan district.

参加させてくれたところは台北市松山区の幸福農園です。ここは台北市内でも有名な都市農園で毎年賞を取ったり、外国からの見学団体を受け入れる住民たちが一生懸命に野菜を作っている綺麗な農園です。松山区のスタジオからも徒歩5分内で便利な場所です。

Every farmer gets a small land of 180cm*90cm, and we create our own small world in this little land. The farmers in the community exchange the seeds or informations about farming, which makes the community a lively one and it is also named as “Happy Farm”.

1単位あたりは大体0.5坪(180cm*90cm)の中でみんなが自分の世界を作り没頭しています。住民たちは野菜栽培に関する情報や野菜のタネを交換したりして、凄くにぎやかなコミュニティになっています。

Different vegetables grow according to different seasons, so it is a very important thing to design your small farm with proficiency carefully.

季節に合わせて栽培する物も違うので小スペースの中で高効率に使うことに、頭を絞って考えないとダメですね。
